Spartan's Wes Chestnut Named Co-Chair of FAMA Technical Committee

(Nasdaq:SPAR) ("Spartan"), announced today that Wes Chestnut, Group
Lead of Product Compliance at Spartan and a 20-year veteran of the
fire service, was recently named co-chair of the Fire Apparatus
Manufacturers' Association (FAMA) technical committee.

maintaining regular communication with federal regulatory bodies,
and ensuring Spartan's compliance is met and maintained throughout
all facets of the organization."
As co-chair of the technical committee, Chestnut will provide
guidance and represent member organizations on technical issues
with the goal of constant improvement to fire apparatus and user
safety. This role could include interacting with federal agencies
or with development of standards through associations such as the
National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA).
In 2014, Chestnut was named the recipient of the FAMA Technical
Committee Chairman's Award for his engagement with the EPA as it
moves into Phase II of the greenhouse gas and fuel economy
regulations. Chestnut has previously provided leadership to the
Chassis subcommittee for FAMA, keeping the organization ahead of
new government regulations.
In his 16 years with Spartan, Chestnut has been responsible with
interacting with federal agencies like the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA), in addition to his regular communication with FAMA
and NFPA.
