STOCKHOLM -(Dow Jones)- The Swedish Post and Telecom Agency ruled Thursday that Skype, the Internet phone provider owned by online auction site EBay Inc. (EBAY), must pay the government fees for the revenue-generating services it is offering in Sweden.
The agency ruled that the IP communications services SkypeIn, SkypeOut and Skype To Go are "publicly available electronic communications services" and that Skype therefore must pay fees for its operations in Sweden.
The fees will be based on Skype's revenue in Sweden, the agency said.
