Shell Reports Small Leak at Deer Park, Texas, Facility

Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA) reported a small leak at its Deer
Park refining and chemical facility near Houston, and said it shut
down a process unit to halt the release.
In a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality,
the refinery said the leak occurred Tuesday at the delayed coking
unit.
Shell said personnel found indications of a leak at the main
fractionator column near a steam nozzle, and said the insulation
around the column was soaked with a gas-oil range material.
Shell Deer Park is on the Houston Ship Channel, 20 miles east of
downtown Houston. The facility includes a 285,000-barrel-a-day
refinery.
