NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Select Comfort Corp. Wednesday said it had
separated its chairman and chief executive officer roles and named Ervin Shames
to the position of chairman.
The company said the move was the result of review of best practices in
regards to corporate governance.
Bill McLaughlin, who previously served in both positions, will remain the
company's CEO and president. He will also remain a member of the board.
Shames is Select Comfort's lead director. He also served as the company's
chairman from 1996 to 1999.
Shares of Select Comfort, a Minneapolis-based bed retailer, closed Tuesday
at $5.08.
