NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Sandy Spring Bancorp Inc. Thursday named
Daniel Schrider president, succeeding Hunter Hollar, who plans to retire at the
end of 2008.
Hollar will continue as chief executive officer and is expected to be
re-elected to the board at the upcoming annual meeting on Apr. 23.
The board is also expected to appoint Hollar as chairman to succeed W. Drew
Stabler, who is retiring from the board at the close of the annual meeting.
Stabler has served as a director since 1986 and was elected chairman in
1997.
Hollar joined Sandy Spring Bancorp in 1990 as president and chief operating
officer and has served as president and CEO since 1994.
Schrider joined the company in 1989 and most recently served as executive
vice president and chief credit officer.
Sandy Spring shares fell 10 cents to $27.85 in early trading.
