                     Sale of Sofa Workshop Limited ("SWL")

The Board of MFI Furniture Group Plc ("MFI") today announces that it has
completed the sale of Sofa Workshop Limited ("SWL") to New Heights Limited ("New
Heights"). Under the terms of the Disposal, MFI will receive gross cash proceeds
(before expenses) of #1.8 million.
