George K. Baum & Co, a privately held investment bank, recently hired Amelia Bond, former head of public finance for Wachovia Securities and A.G. Edwards, to lead its new St. Louis office.
Bond will join a team of senior bankers in serving Missouri-based issuers from both Kansas City and St. Louis. She will work with Dick Bartow and Greg Bricker, both executive vice presidents in the firm's Kansas City office.
Bond worked at Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC) for more than seven months after it acquired Wachovia Securities. Previously, she was head of public finance for Wachovia Securities for two years after that firm bought A.G. Edwards, a St. Louis-based brokerage. Prior to that deal, she was director of public finance for A.G. Edwards for seven years.
Bond was also on the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board for three years and was elected its chairman during the fiscal 2005-2006 year.
George K. Baum, a unit of George K. Baum Holdings, Inc., has more than 200 professionals and 16 offices in the U.S., including public finance offices in 14 cities. The firm focuses on distributing municipal securities to institutional investors and high-net-worth clients.
