SEPTA Set to Deliver Fans to Flyers Playoff/Phillies Baseball Doubleheader Next Week

SEPTA General Manager Joseph Casey to Throw Out First Pitch

PHILADELPHIA, May 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SEPTA will provide Broad Street Line "Sports Express" service to Games 3 and 4 of the Flyers playoff series against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Wachovia Center and the Phillies games at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday and Thursday, May 13 & 15.

SEPTA General Manager Joseph Casey will throw out the first pitch prior to Tuesday's Phillies game scheduled at 7:05 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., the Flyers/Penguins are scheduled to drop the puck for playoff action. On Thursday, the Phillies again battle division rival Atlanta in South Philly at 7:05 p.m. with the Flyers resuming their scheduled playoff series at 7:30 p.m.

SEPTA Broad Street Line Sports Express trains will leave the Fern Rock Transportation Center every ten minutes from 6:08 p.m. through 6:48 p.m. on both days. The trains will stop only at the Olney Transportation Center, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall and Walnut-Locust Stations en route to Pattison Station at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. The express trip from City Hall takes only about eight minutes. Local trains take only 11 minutes to travel to the sports complex from City Hall. After the events local and express trains will be standing by to provide northbound service back to Fern Rock.
