SBE and NComm Demonstrate Intelligent Linux WAN Solutions at
SUPERCOMM
Joint solution delivers high-performance and accelerated time to market for
network equipment manufacturers
SUPERCOMM 2004, CHICAGO, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- NComm, Inc., a technology
leader in turnkey WAN software and source code, and SBE, Inc. (NASDAQ:SBEI), a
leading supplier of high performance OEM communications solutions, will
demonstrate their integrated hardware and software WAN interface solution at
SBE's SUPERCOMM booth (#28012) in Chicago this week from June 22-24.
The demonstration will highlight the joint solution created by combining
NComm's sophisticated Trunk Management Software(TM) (TMS) with SBE's rich mix
of T1/E1 and T3/E3 WAN adapters. Designed to operate in Real Time Operating
System (RTOS) environments, including Linux, this powerful combination of
products enables one of the industry's most complete board-level WAN interface
solutions for network equipment providers. It presents a substantial ROI
advantage to OEM customers by accelerating time to market by up to a year.
Typically, WAN interface cards are packaged with basic drivers, leaving the
complex and time-consuming tasks of completing a standard compliant interface,
i.e. driver modifications and additional software development, to the customer. This common development exercise is risk-prone and can be eliminated with the
application-ready SBE/NComm solution. The joint solution incorporates
pre-tested alarming, signaling and monitoring capabilities into the SBE
offering.
"When OEMs are freed from the additional development and testing cycle, they
can focus on their core products and deliver reliable, fully functional product
to market more rapidly and cost-effectively," said Dan Grey, senior vice
president of sales and marketing at SBE. "The customer inquiries and design win
activity for the SBE/NComm solution that we have experienced since its
introduction just a few short months ago is a testament to the viability and
need for such a product in the networking community. We're pleased to report
that the bundled SBE and NComm solution is currently integrated in a voice
conferencing system designed for worldwide deployment. We expect more OEM
success stories to follow, especially now that a 'pre-ported' Linux version is
available to further boost time savings to our many Linux customers," concluded
Grey.
"Today's competitive market demands that vendors provide their OEM customers
with complete, ready-for-primetime WAN solutions that run out-of- the-box,"
noted Bill Matern, founder and CEO of NComm. "The SBE/NComm offering is the
only one in the market that truly delivers the complete solution. It is the
combining of two best-in-class products that delivers a robust, Linux
communication platform aimed at meeting these market demands." Linux Demonstration at SBE SUPERCOMM Booth #28012 NComm and SBE will be demonstrating NComm's flagship Layer 1 Trunk Management
Software (TMS) and NComm Stacks (ISDN Primary Rate Interface support) with
SBE's T1/E1 cards. The joint solution is available for SBE's full line of T1/E1
and T3/E3 WAN interface cards in PCI, PMC and PTMC form factors. Board options include single, dual or quad ports in clear channel or
channelized versions. H.100/H.110 support is also available.
Availability and Pricing The integrated product suite is available immediately for T1/E1, T3/E3 and ISDN
PRI applications. For pricing details, contact SBE at 800-214-4723 or NComm at
