WALLDORF, Germany (Thomson Financial) - SAP AG. said it is planning to
terminate the activities of its TomorrowNow unit by Oct 31, 2008.
SAP purchased TomorrowNow -- which provides third-party support for Oracle
Corp. and other applications -- in 2005.
"Our goal is to assist our customers in transitioning to a new support
provider, including Oracle, without a disruption to their support during the
wind-down process," said Mark White, executive chairman of TomorrowNow.
SAP added that it is closely liaising with TomorrowNow's 225 customers to
switch to new support options.
The unit is also at the centre of a lawsuit filed by Oracle against SAP in
March 2007, alleging the unit downloaded secret product information from its
website.
Previously, Oracle estimated damages from the product rights case with SAP
regarding the download of secret product information could total at least $1
billion.
