LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Rolls-Royce (RR.LN), a global power systems company, said Monday it has won a $350 million order, at list prices, for Trent engines to power five Airbus A330 aircraft for Turkish Airlines (Turk Hava Yollari).
MAIN FACTS:
-The contract includes long-term TotalCare service support.
-Aircraft deliveries will start in 2010.
-This follows the July 2009 announcement that Trent 700 engines will also power seven THY A330 aircraft, a contract valued at $470 million at list prices.
-The THY aircraft will feature an enhanced performance version of the Trent 700 which improves engine performance by a further 1.3 per cent - confirming its position on the A330 as best for fuel burn and emissions as well as thrust and noise.
