ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - US diagnostics group Quidel Corp said it has
partnered with Roche Holdings AG to provide rapid on-the-spot diagnostic tests
for the 2007-2008 influenza season in Germany.
Quidel's QuickVue Influenza A+B tests will be used along with Tamiflu to
diagnose and treat influenza, said the company in a statement.
On average, around 10-20 pct of a given population in Germany will be
infected with the flu virus, resulting in 10,000-20,000 hospitalisations.
