LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Rio Tinto PLC said it has appointed Keith
Marshall as the managing director of Ivanhoe Mines Mongolia Inc, which owns the
undeveloped copper project Oyu Tolgoi.
The company said Marshall will head the overall project and will be
responsible for the ongoing investment agreement negotiations with the Mongolian
Government.
Marshall is currently managing director of Palabora Mining Company in South
Africa, it added.
Rio Tinto holds a 10 pct interest in Ivanhoe Mines.
