LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Rambler Media Ltd. said it has agreed to sell
its contextual advertising company ZAO Begun and related subsidiaries to Google
Inc. for a total of $140 million.
Rambler said it expects net gain from the sale to be around $50 million.
The company also confirmed its revenue guidance between $100 million and
$110 million for 2008, after allowing for the impact of not consolidating Begun
in the fourth quarter of 2008.
Rambler also confirmed its full year guidance of improving its EBITDA margin
to between 20 percent and 25 percent, and said it expects this transaction to
support further margin improvement in future years.
Separately, Rambler said it has signed an agreement with Google, under which
search queries made on Rambler's home page Rambler.ru and through the Rambler
Search function will be enhanced by Google.
