Convedia Software Media Server to support IBM BladeCenter and System x3550 servers
CHICAGO, June 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- RadiSys (NASDAQ:RSYS), a leading global provider of advanced embedded solutions, today announced that it is certifying and delivering its Convedia Software Media Server on IBM System x(TM) and BladeCenter(TM) systems running the Red Hat Linux operating system. This solution will offer enterprise customers and telecommunication service providers deploying an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) enhanced telecommunication services, with increased deployment flexibility.
The Convedia Software Media Server is the evolution of the company's industry-defining, carrier-class media processing expertise into a modular, portable technology suited to the entire range of media processing needs. The Convedia Software Media Server running on IBM System x and BladeCenter systems will enable enterprise customers and telecom service providers to deploy applications such as conferencing, converged communications, IP PBX, and unified IP contact centers on a high performance, cost-effective platform that can be leveraged across their entire network.

RadiSys expects to make its software media server generally available on the IBM System x3550 in the third quarter of 2007, with BladeCenter certification to follow shortly afterward.
