BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - Shares of RadiSys Corp. rallied Friday after
the Hillsboro, Ore.-based producer of embedded computer applications posted
better than expected third quarter results.
After Thursday's closing bell, the company reported a net loss of $2.4
million, or 11 cents a share, narrower than its year-earlier loss of $13.3
million, or 62 cents a share.
Excluding charges related to acquisition expenses and stock-based
compensation expenses, RadiSys said it earned $2.8 million, or 11 cents a share,
in the September period.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial was for earnings
of 1 cent a share.
RadiSys said revenue for the period rose to $83.6 million from $81.4 million
a year earlier. Analysts, on average, were looking for revenue of $77.1 million.
RadiSys also said its outlook for the fourth quarter is "positive." The
company expects adjusted earnings of 11 cents to 15 cents a share on revenue of
$92 million to $98 million.
Shares were up 22% at $16.68.
