Appointment of Non-Executive Director

The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian May to the Board of the Company as Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Brian is a Chartered Civil Engineer and progressed his career in Tarmac Construction Ltd, subsequently holding a number of senior positions in Mowlem plc over the course of 15 years. In 2000, Brian became Chief Executive of Laing Construction plc, followed by HBG Construction Ltd in 2001. Brian was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Renew Holdings in June 2005.

In June 2007, Renew Holdings plc announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Allenbuild Limited had been contacted by the OFT as part of its investigation into tendering activities in the construction sector. Both Renew and Allenbuild cooperated fully with the OFT throughout its investigation which related to infringements which took place prior to the appointment of Mr May as a director of Renew Holdings plc.

Following an appeal by Renew and Allenbuild, the Competition Act Tribunal determined that a fine of GBP926,250 was levied on Allenbuild, one of its subsidiaries, Bullock Construction Limited, and Renew.

Immediately following the commencement of the OFT investigation, Renew introduced reinforced group wide tendering procedures to ensure that all subsidiaries comply with competition laws.

Brian was also a director of Cornerbrite Limited in the last five years.
