RCG Holdings Limited
("RCG" or "the Company")
RCG deploys RFID system with MTR
First application of RCG's RFID document management system in the rail sector
RCG Holdings Limited (AIM:RCG, HKSE:802), an international provider of biometric
and RFID products and solution services with a primary focus in the Asia Pacific
markets, is pleased to announce that it delivered its RFID Document Management
System to MTR Corporation Limited ("MTR") (HKSE:066), the sole railway service
provider in Hong Kong which is also involved in the building and operation of
railways in the PRC and internationally, with implementation started at forty
major MTR locations across Hong Kong.
This announcement is a result of an original project contract signed between RCG
and MTR in December 2008. RCG is providing an integrated property management
operations monitoring system ("IPMS") for MTR. The system is based on RCG's RFID
Document Management System for the monitoring of busy document transaction
activities. RCG's RFID system allows the tagging and tracking of important
documents such as reports and proposals, which require multiple reviews and
authorisation for actions.
The document management process commences when the person who generates the
document issues a folder with a RFID tag attached to each document. The RFID
tagging system enables document identification, information management,
web-based status review, and personnel supervision, and issues an email
notification if a document is overdue. The system is integrated into MTR's
daily operation of the property management and is aimed at reducing errors and
delay from overdue documents or misplaced reports. RCG's technology also
increases operational efficiency through better monitoring of document flow.
Commenting on the project win, Dato' Lee Boon Han, Deputy CEO of RCG Holdings
Limited, said: "We are pleased to be the frontrunner in the RFID field and to
provide innovative RFID solutions to fulfill industry needs. The fact that
RCG's RFID solutions are accepted by an organisation as prominent as MTR, and
their use, across their Hong Kong sites, is evidence of the RFID industry's
acknowledgement of our market strength."
