RBC Capital Markets Continues Investment Banking Expansion Adds Proven Wall Street Veterans for Healthcare and Media, Communications & Entertainment Sectors

NEW YORK, June 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- RBC Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking arm of RBC Financial Group (NYSE:RY), today announced the further expansion of its core investment banking group with the hiring of two veteran Wall Street executives.

Kevin Davies joins RBC Capital Markets as managing director in Healthcare Investment Banking and Chris Mulligan becomes managing director and co-head of the Media, Communications & Entertainment Investment Banking group.

The hires follow the recent announcement that Marc Daniel, former senior managing director at Bear Stearns & Co., has joined RBC Capital Markets as a managing director in its Mergers & Acquisitions group.

Davies was most recently managing director for Life Sciences Investment Banking at Wells Fargo Securities LLC and gained experience in healthcare and life sciences investment banking at Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and Robertson Stephens. He has completed more than 80 financing and M&A transactions across a broad spectrum of healthcare sectors in his career.

Davies received his bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto and his MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

"Kevin's track record is well-known in the healthcare investment banking arena," said Peter deVos, head of corporate finance at RBC Capital Markets. "We look forward to more exceptional work at RBC."

Mulligan also brings considerable experience to his new position at RBC, both on the investment banking and entrepreneurial front. He gained investment banking experience at Wit Soundview and Salomon Smith Barney and spent the past year establishing a New York office for Headwaters Merchant Bank, leading coverage of the media and consumer sectors. While at Wit Soundview Group, he was instrumental in overseeing the firm's banking revenue grow to $200 million from $2 million in just two years. Mulligan completed his undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College and his MBA at the University of Chicago.

"Chris brings with him impressive media and entertainment banking experience, proven results and a unique background that is sure to benefit the company," deVos said.
