BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - Quidel Corp. Friday said the Food and Drug
Administration has granted CLIA waiver for the company's QuickVue RSV test,
which is used for the qualitative detection of respiratory syncytial virus.
The waiver makes the QuickVue RSV test more widely available for use,
especially in physician's offices and clinics where waived tests are used most
frequently, Quidel said.
Shares of the San Diego-based provider of rapid point-of-care diagnostic
tests closed Thursday at $16.51.
