NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Barrier Therapeutics Inc. Thursday said it
has reached an agreement with Procter & Gamble Co. to package its seborrheic
dermatitis treatment Xolegel with P&G's Head & Shoulder's anti-dandruff shampoo
as Xolegel duo.
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
P&G will supply Barrier with 1.7-ounce bottles of Head & Shoulders and
Barrier will be responsible for the logistics of assembling the kits,
distribution, pricing, marketing, promotion and sales. Barrier will also receive
all proceeds from the sales of the kits.
The kit, which will be available by prescription in June, will be a complete
treatment regimen for patients suffering from seborrheic dermatitis, a recurring
inflammatory skin condition characterized by a red, scaly, itchy rash primarily
on the face, scalp, hairline, eyebrows and torso, the company said.
Barrier shares closed at $2.24 on Wednesday. P&G's stock, a component of the
Dow industrials, closed at $65.17.
