Appointment of Chairman

Premier Foods plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Hamill, OBE, as non-executive Chairman of the Company. Keith will join the Board on 1 October as non-executive Chairman designate and will be appointed as Chairman on 9 November. On Keith's appointment, and as previously announced, David Beever will step down from the Board after nine years with the Company and five years as Chairman.

David Beever, Chairman, said:

Keith Hamill currently serves as non-executive director of Easyjet plc and Samsonite International S.A. Keith has also served as non-executive director of TP ICAP plc (formerly Tullett Prebon plc), Max Property Group plc and Bagir Group Limited over the last five years. Premier Foods is making this announcement in accordance with LR 9.6.11R.

Keith Hamill is a highly experienced Chairman and non-executive director - including UK and international businesses and private equity investments, many of which involved consumer facing brands.

He is currently a non-executive director of easyJet plc and Samsonite International S.A. and was previously Chairman of Travelodge , Tullett Prebon, Moss Bros , Collins Stewart, Go and Avant Homes as well as non-executive director of Electrocomponents. Earlier in his career he was a partner at PwC and was Group Finance Director of Forte plc and WHSmith Group plc.
