WARSAW (Thomson Financial) - Poland's only listed television broadcaster TVN
increased the audience share of its flagship channel in April leaving the main
rival, privately-held Polsat, trailing, an online media service
Wirtualnemedia.pl reported Monday.
TVN was the third most-frequently watched channel among the overall audience
and moved up to the second position in the lucrative 16-49 age group, the main
target for advertisers, data from pollster TNS OBOP showed.
The total audience share for the TVN namesake channel rose to 17.35 percent
from 16.39 percent a year earlier and in the target group it jumped to 18.78
percent from 17.85 percent.
Polsat's total audience share slipped to 15.35 percent from 17.5 percent a
year earlier and the channel lost its top spot in the 16-49 age target group as
its viewership fell to 17.96 percent from more than 20 percent.
The main channel of the public broadcaster TVP remained the most frequently
watched in April with 23.31 percent total audience share and 20.07 percent for
the target group.
