PLANNING PERMISSION FOR CHESSER
John Swan & Sons PLC - Chesser Avenue, Edinburgh
Further to the announcement by the Company dated 25 January 2008 in connection
with the conditional agreement with Aldi Stores Limited ("Aldi") in respect of
the sale to Aldi of an area of ground of 1.4 acres at Chesser Avenue,
Edinburgh, an appeal was submitted against the refusal of the planning
application submitted by Aldi to Edinburgh City Council.
The appeal has now been heard, has failed and planning permission is refused.
