Pirelli to reinforce position in high growth markets

        MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Pirelli & C SpA is expected to outline plans to
reinforce its position in high growth markets like China, India and Latin
America when it releases its business plan expected this autumn, the daily Il
Corriere della Sera said without giving a source.
    The tyre maker is also expected to prepare its entry in the Russia market,
which could occur as soon as next year, it added.
    The group is also expected to aim to expand through external growth in the
photonics sector as well as develop its activity in the manufacturing of
anti-particulate filters, the newspaper said.
