Perot Systems Corp.'s third-quarter profit increased 10% as widening margins offset lower revenue.
On Tuesday, Dell Inc. (DELL) completed its acquisition of the provider of information-technology services in a move to expand on its core personal-computer business to match rivals that offer wider ranging products and services.
Perot Systems reported a profit of $33 million, or 27 cents a share, up from $30 million, or 25 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue declined 12% to $629 million.
In August, the company projected earnings of 23 cents to 25 cents on revenue of $620 million to $640 million.
Gross profit grew to 19.4% from 17.4%.
Dell is scheduled to report its fiscal third-quarter results on Nov. 19.
