SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - PeopleSupport Inc. late Thursday
reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $18.1 million, or 81 cents a share,
versus $3.96 million, or 18 cents a share, a year earlier.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial was for a
per-share profit of 29 cents.
Revenue in the quarter ended Dec. 31 rose to $35.8 million from $31 million
a year earlier, versus the consensus Street view of $36.4 million.
The Los Angeles-based provider of offshore business process outsourcing also
lowered its near-term revenue guidance.
The company sees first-quarter earnings per share of 11 cents to 12 cents on
revenue of $35 million to $36 million, and 2008 earnings of 47 cents to 58 cents
a share on revenue of $162 million to $170 million.
Analysts are expecting a first-quarter profit of 17 cents a share on revenue
of $40.9 million and full-year profit of 75 cents a share on revenue of $184.4
million.
The stock closed the regular session down 6 cents at $11.40 but plunged
$2.30, or about 20%, to $9.10 in after-hours trading.
