BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - Penwest Pharmaceuticals Co. said Monday results
from its Phase IIa clinical trial of nalbuphine hydrochloride extended-release
tablets for the treatment of moderate chronic pain showed efficacy sufficient to
support further development.
The Danbury, Conn.-based developer of pharmaceuticals products said it plans
to conduct a Phase IIb nalbuphine trial in the second half of 2008.
Penwest shares were halted in premarket trading. The stock closed at $5.30
Friday.
