LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. reported earnings
for the three months ended March 31, of 1.14 usd per share, against 0.51 usd in
the same period the previous year.
The company said it saw revenue growth of 16 pct, to 245.6 mln usd, from
210.9 mln usd; which it said was impacted by same-unit neonatal patient volume
growth for the quarter that was below historical annual ranges;
Pediatrix said its previously issued earnings per share guidance for 2008
was based on several assumptions, including NICU patient volume growth of 3-5
pct for the year. If same-unit NICU patient day volume growth continues to be
below its historical range of 3 to 5 pct, the company said it may not achieve
its 2008 guidance.
