MILAN (Thomson Financial) - Parmalat SpA has won a procedural ruling on the
admission of certain documents in the New Jersey trial over its $2.2 billion
claim against Citigroup, said Radiocor news agency in an unsourced report.
The New Jersey appeal court has rejected Citigroup's request for the
documents not to be introduced as evidence in the main trail, it said.
However, Citigroup still has the possibility to make a further appeal over
the documents, which have already been used in Italian courts, it said.
In the main case, Parmalat is seeking damages for Citigroup's alleged role
in the collapse of the dairy group in December 2003.
Citigroup rejects the allegations and is counterclaiming for $699 million of
losses it said it suffered in the collapse.
Parmalat was relisted in October 2005 after a financial restructuring.
