BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - Parametric Technology Corp. Wednesday reported
fourth-quarter adjusted income of $44.5 million, or 38 cents per share,
excluding restructuring and stock compensation costs.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial was for earnings
of 26 cents a share.
Revenue for the period rose 9% to $266.7 million, topping Wall Street's $246
million consensus.
The Needham, Mass.-based software products developer said it sees fiscal
2008 first-quarter adjusted earnings of 20 cents to 25 cents a share on revenue
of $230 million to $240 million. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial, on
average, estimate earnings of 23 cents a share on revenue of $236.7 million.
In a separate news release, Parametric said it has agreed to acquire German
modeling products provider CoCreate Software GmbH for about $250 million.
The company said it expects the acquisition of CoCreate to add to its
second-quarter 2008 earnings.
The acquisition is expected to close in December 2007.
Shares closed Tuesday at $17.72.
