Analyst Briefing to be Held in New York on September 22, 2005

(NASDAQ:PANC) ("Panacos" or "the Company") today announced that it will hold a meeting for invited analysts and investment professionals on Thursday, September 22, 2005 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at the St. Regis Hotel, Two East 55th Street, New York, NY 10022. At the meeting, data will be presented from the Company's recently completed Phase 2a study of PA-457, the first in a new class of HIV drugs discovered by the Company called maturation inhibitors. The meeting will bring together leading researchers in HIV to review the scientific data and to discuss clinical development strategies designed to make PA-457 available to HIV patients.
