CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) -- Chemical products maker Olin Corp. said Monday it
expects a roughly 61 percent increase in 2008 first-quarter profit, reflecting a
slight improvement in pricing as well as a decline in pension expense.
CINCINNATI (AP) -- Convergys Corp., a provider of call-center and billing
services, reaffirmed its fiscal year 2008 guidance on Tuesday after reporting
that fourth-quarter earnings beat Wall Street expectations despite a slight
decline in revenue.
NEW YORK (AP) -- Chinese chip maker Semiconductor Manufacturing
International Corp. on Tuesday projected first-quarter revenue will be flat or
decline slightly from the prior quarter.
CLEVELAND (AP) -- Paint manufacturer Sherwin-Williams Co. said Tuesday its
first-quarter earnings estimate for 2008 will decline and are below analysts'
expectations.
SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (AP) -- Headwaters Inc. affirmed its full-year profit
outlook on Tuesday, but indicated that an expired tax credit and a weak housing
market will continue to weigh on results.
NEW YORK (AP) -- Railroad operator Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. said
Tuesday it expects 2008 earnings well above Wall Street's expectations,
suggesting improved efficiency should offset higher expected oil prices.
