NEW YORK (AP) - Shares of household durable companies rose slightly Monday
morning with the broader markets as investors' confidence was buoyed by news
JPMorgan Chase would boost its takeover offer for Bear Stearns.
Shares of Black & Decker Corp. gained $1.78, or 2.7 percent, to $68.95.
Shares of Whirlpool Corp. added $1.09 to $89.84.
Shares of Snap-on Inc. increased 40 cents to $49.68.
And shares of Stanley Works, which makes tools, rose 80 cents to $49.05.
