LONDON--The U.K.'s energy regulator ordered two utilities to increase their compensation for customers who lost power during last winter's storms.

Ofgem Thursday said it secured an additional 3.3 million pounds ($5.62 million) from SSE PLC (SSE.LN) and U.K. Power Networks--a unit of Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Ltd. (1038.HK)--after an investigation into how they handled the storms, bringing the total payout to GBP8 million.
