SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - O'Reilly Automotive late Tuesday
reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $40.6
million, or 35 cents a share, missing the 36-cent mean estimate of analysts
polled by Thomson Financial.
In the comparable period last year, the Springfield, Mo.-based retailer of
automotive aftermarket parts reported a net profit of $40.4 million, or 35 cents
a share.
Sales for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31 totaled $604.3 million, up 8.2%
from $558.3 million for the same period a year ago. Analysts were looking for
sales of $612 million.
Comparable store sales increased 2.1% for the quarter and 3.7% for the year,
the company said.
Shares of O'Reilly closed at $27.72.
