ARLINGTON, Texas, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Stating that "North Texas will present the most exciting and comprehensive Super Bowl experience in history," Roger Staubach and area leaders today announced the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee, unveiled the Committee's iconic logo and introduced the Committee's $1 Million Host Committee Founding Sponsorship Program at a news conference held at the construction site of the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium in Arlington, Texas. The news conference was the Host Committee's first public event since the National Football League designated North Texas as the host of Super Bowl XLV in February of 2011. The NFL's 45th league championship game will be played in the Cowboys' new stadium February 6, 2011.

Bill Lively, President and CEO of Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, will be the Committee's President. Troy Aikman, former Dallas Cowboy quarterback and member of the NFL Hall of Fame, will chair the Host Committee's Legends Action Team. Ross Perot, Jr., Chairman of Perot Systems, will chair the Host Committee's Founding Sponsorship Action Team.
"Over the last year we have worked diligently to begin appointing the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee to include distinguished business, civic, cultural and education leaders from throughout the region," said Staubach. "Our goal is to help plan Super Bowl XLV to have the greatest economic, entertainment and cultural impact of any Super Bowl in history." Joining Staubach at the news conference were all current members of the Host Committee, including Bill Lively; Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck; Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert; Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief; Ross Perot, Jr.; Jerry Jones, owner and General Manager of the Dallas Cowboys; Frank Supovitz, the NFL's Senior Vice President of Events; and the Arlington, Dallas and Fort Worth City Councils and city managers. Also attending were representatives of the four-county areas (Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant Counties), including 23 local convention and visitor bureaus.
At the news conference, officials outlined the Host Committee's mission, key goals for 2008 and plans to launch various a minimum of 10 volunteer action teams to handle community outreach, special events, communications, hospitality, financial management and other aspects. Officials also announced the formation of the $1 Million Host Committee Founding Sponsorship Program. Only 15 Host Committee Founding Sponsorships will be available, and four already have already been confirmed, including sponsorships committed by the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, Ted and Shannon Skokos, The Staubach Company and Perot's company, Hillwood Development.
