New Contract worth US$500,000
Corpora plc announces that it has won a groundbreaking contract to deliver an
automated sentiment analysis system, to be embedded in the infrastructure of a
global news vendor in 2006.
Corpora's automated sentiment analysis system will "read" news articles and
assess whether they are positive, neutral or negative. A further detailed
product launch announcement will be made in conjunction with the customer later
in 2006.
Mark Thompson, Corpora's CEO said:
"This is a landmark deal in the history of text analytics, as it is the first
large scale commercial application of automated sentiment analysis technology.
"I am delighted that Corpora has been chosen for this prestigious project. This
confirms our leadership in advanced information processing systems and is
further proof of our ability to successfully acquire and productise complex
technologies based around our computational linguistic expertise."
This new contract is worth in excess of US$500,000 over a number of years and
will open opportunities for further applications of this technology across
business, government and homeland security operations. For example, by adding
automated sentiment analysis to the existing review processes of drug safety
data, pharmaceutical companies can significantly increase efficiency and reduce
the risk of missing critical safety data. For a demonstration of automated
sentiment analysis technology in action, please go to www.corporanews.com .
