NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Neopharm Inc. Wednesday filed a new drug
application with the Food and Drug Administration for a liposomal delivery
system of docetaxel, an ingredient in Taxotere, which is a treatment for
patients with solid tumors after failure of chemotherapy.
Neopharm plans to enter Phase I clinical study of the Liposome Entrapped
Docetaxel for Injection (LE-DT), which may improve the safety profile of
docetaxel, upon acceptance of its application.
Shares of the Waukegan, Ill.-based cancer treatment developer closed Monday
at 59 cents.
