NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Nektar Therapeutics Friday said the Phase I
trial for its NKTR-102 product showed "significant" anti-tumor activity in
patients with refractory solid tumors.
The study also showed that Nektar's small molecule technology caused an
increase in SN38 exposure that was up to six times more than previously reported
with irinotecan at similar doses.
SN38 is a topoisomerase I inhibitor.
NKTR-102 is currently in Phase II clinical development to evaluate its
safety when it is used in combination with cetuximab.
Shares of Nektar closed Thursday at $4.76. The stock is down 58% over the
past 52 weeks.
