COSTA MESA, Calif.,
Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/
-- Business leader Mike
Manclark and his MANGIC Foundation recently joined the
City of Costa Mesa and Chamber of
Commerce in honoring everyday heroes at the 10th annual
Public Safety Recognition BBQ. Held at the Orange County Fair, the
event celebrates the service and sacrifice of Fire, Police and
Communications personnel treating any off-duty public safety
personnel to free lunch and raffles.
"We wish to acknowledge the role law enforcement and emergency
workers play in keeping people safe on our streets and in our homes
and businesses," noted Mike
Manclark, Medal of Honor sponsor. "I have been doing
business in this city for 25 years and appreciate the difficult job
these professionals do day in and day out, holidays, evenings and
weekends, to make Costa Mesa a
strong and vibrant city."
A special raffle for Costa Mesa Public Safety personnel only was
held with Manclark's foundation donating an exhilarating helicopter
ride to a lucky first responder and three friends. "Most people
have never seen the back side of Catalina, so this is a rare
experience that they'll never forget," adds Manclark.
The lucky winners will be flown over to Catalina Island and have lunch at the "Airport
in the Sky". Billed as experience like no other, Manclark
hopes the prize will raise the bar for community engagement in
local events and programs. The 2012 winner of Orange County
Business Journal's prestigious Excellence in Entrepreneurship
Award, Manclark has been recognized for exemplifying the
entrepreneurial spirit through his vision, execution, business
accomplishments and potential for continued success.
He is applying his skills to the non-profit MANGIC Foundation he
founded with his family two years ago to improve the quality of
life for those in need, underserved and forgotten. Locally,
Manclark has piloted Santa's helicopter every year for the
Costa Mesa Police family party,
raised funds for injured Marines and their families and much
more.
