NEW YORK (AP) - Standard & Poor's said Monday Metavante Technologies Inc.,
which develops banking and payment technologies, and Service Corp.
International, a provider of funeral and cemetery services, will join the MidCap
400 Index.
Metavante, which will join the index Thursday after the close of trading, is
being spun off from Marshall & Ilsley Corp. The company replaces UTStarcom Inc.,
which ranks 400th in the index based on market cap.
Service, which will join the index on a date to be announced, replaces
Kyphon Inc., Standard & Poor's said. Medtronic is acquiring Kyphon.
Also, Spartan Motors Inc., a supplier of motor vehicle chassis and bodies,
will replace Authorize.Net Holdings Inc. in the S&P SmallCap 600 after the close
of trading on Thursday. Authorize.Net is being acquired by CyberSource Corp.
