BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - Merit Medical Systems Inc. Wednesday said it
received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its All-Star
hemostasis valve and its Prelude marker tip introducer sheath.
Merit Medical said its All-Star valve reduces patient blood loss by allowing
users to use one hand to manipulate wires and catheters without completely
opening the valve. Its Prelude sheath allows visualization of the sheath tip for
precise placement during procedures.
The company expects the two products to enhance its revenue growth and
profitability in 2008.
Shares of Merit Medical rose 1% to $14.10.
