MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Medical device maker Medtronic Inc. said Wednesday the
German Federal Cartel Office cleared the company's planned $3.9 billion buyout
of spinal implant maker Kyphon Inc.
The company announced the transaction in July. It still needs approvals from
other antitrust authorities in order to proceed.
Kyphon shareholders are scheduled to vote on the offer on Oct. 16.
