MONTREAL, May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Abitibi-Consolidated Inc. will hold its Annual Meeting of Shareholders on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern) at the Windsor, Salon Windsor, located on 1170 Peel Street, in Montreal. Television, photo and video recording equipment will be allowed in the room until the proceedings begin.
Immediately following the Annual Meeting, a press conference will take place with John W. Weaver, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Pierre Rougeau, Senior Vice-President, Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer.
The Annual Meeting will be webcast live through the Company's website http://www.abitibiconsolidated.com/ under the "Investor Relations" section - "Presentations and Webcasts". A replay of the webcast will be archived on the Company's website.
