BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tri-Valley Corporation (AMEX:TIV) continues its board expansion with the addition of William H. "Mo" Marumoto of Washington D.C. to its board of directors where he will serve on the committee for personnel and compensation.
Currently the president and chief executive officer of the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies, Marumoto has over 30 years experience in the executive and personnel search profession as chairman and chief executive officer of his own retained firm, The Interface Group, Ltd during which he was named to the Global Top 200 Executive Recruiters and several other worldwide professional awards and recognitions.
Mr. Marumoto has a distinguished record spanning over a four-decade career in public, private and academic sectors. He served three years as presidential aide in the Nixon White House and prior to that was assistant to the Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare. A recipient of more than 25 national professional awards for work in higher education, fund raising and events management, Marumoto has served on the boards of numerous organizations, college, including his alma mater, Whittier College, public agencies and businesses. In 2002, President George W. Bush appointed him to the Advisory Committee of the Arts of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Marumoto will replace Director Chase Hoffman, 82, who is resigning for health reasons. Hoffman was chair of the Board's Committee on Personnel and Compensation, a position to be filled when the Board meets in December. Another director, Harold J. Noyes, now president of the Company's mining subsidiary, Select Resources Corporation, is conflicted out of the Committee on Personnel and Compensation and will be reassigned. At this time, the committee members are Dr. Henry Lowenstein and Marumoto.
Other directors are Audit Committee chairman Loren Miller, CPA, and members Milton Carlson and Dennis Lockhart.
