MARKET OVERVIEW Overseas markets are looking a bit depressed this morning as just two of the 15
markets that we track are currently showing positive. The cumulative average
return on the group stood at a minus 0.385 percent. The prime culprit in
driving the average lower was the 1.47 percent drubbing suffered by the Nikkei
overnight. The index gapped lower on the lightest volume in some four months.
On the week however, the index declined by less than one-half of a percentage
point and remains 9.79 percent higher on the year.
The single most important piece of economic data will be released this morning
before the opening bell. At 8:30 a.m., U.S. employers are expected to have
created 250,000 fresh Non-farm jobs in June on top of the 248,000 added in May. The June Unemployment Rate is expected to have held flat with May's 5.6
percent. At 10:00 a.m., May Factory Orders are expected to have improved to a
minus 0.5 percent from April's 1.7 percent decline. This is a fairly volatile
report and typically does not move the market. The Bond Market Association has
recommended an early close for U.S. fixed income markets ahead of Independence
Day Holiday on Monday, so make sure your positions are squared by 2:00 p.m. In
an effort to do the bond traders one better, trading in the oil pit will cease
at 1:00 p.m. today. Friday, it seems, is an earnings free zone this week.

http://www.investorsobserver.com/freemo DYNAMIC MARKET OPPORTUNITIES With the Federal Reserve's long-awaited interest rate hike finally implemented,
investors were in fierce selling mood on Thursday. With jobless claims rising
1,000 to 351,000 last week, the market wavered ahead of today's June job
report. With the July 4 holiday coming up and the markets closed Monday, it
will be interesting to see how the job data affects the market. Expect activity
to come from the report, rather than any pre-holiday buying/selling sentiment. At the Taipan Group's Money-Flow Matrix Trader investment service, chief market
analyst Brit Ryle says with the Fed's decision done, stocks could now be poised
for a bullish run between now and second quarter earnings releases, which get
underway very shortly. Ryle states: "Early indications suggest earnings will be
good. The ratio of raised guidance to lowered guidance is at the best level in
20 years." Elsewhere, Time Warner entered the MGM bidding war Thursday morning,
tabling a $5 billion bid. Bad news for Sony, who, for the past two months, has
failed to broker a deal because of financial complications. MGM shares rose
$0.56 (4.6%) Thursday to close at $12.66. Following a March 16 recommendation
to buy MGM shares at $17.50, Taipan's Profit Hog team walked away with 18-20%,
including the company's one-off, tax-free $8 dividend.
