MARKET OVERVIEW The U.S. Dollar Index rose 0.71 points yesterday on increased hopes that the
Fed will hike interest rates later this year. On the day, the old greenback
rose versus every currency that we track except for the Brazilian Real. The
dollar made new eight month highs versus the yen and fresh three week highs
versus the euro. Fueling the U.S. dollar's rise was the much higher than
expected PPI numbers. This shows that inflation is quickly becoming a factor
that must be dealt with in the near future. Anytime you have rising inflation
worries it is viewed that the Fed will be forced to increase interest rates to
stop inflation in its tracks before it gets out of hand. An increase in
interest rates makes the U.S. dollar more attractive to foreign investors.
The big piece of data will be the April Consumer Price Index at 8:30. Estimates
are it will grow by 0.3 percent after March's higher than expected 0.5 percent
gain. The core rate, which doesn't account for volatile food and energy costs,
is also expected to rise 0.2 percent after rising a disquieting 0.4 percent in
March. The street will be watching these numbers probably closer than usual
this morning due to yesterday's jump in the producer price index numbers.

http://www.investorsobserver.com/freemo DYNAMIC MARKET OPPORTUNITIES Despite the government's attempts to cool its red-hot economy, it seems there's
no stopping the intense Chinese. With a 19% surge in April, industrial
production recorded its fastest pace of growth in over a year. Auto production
continued at a frantic pace, jumping 35%. That followed a 25% increase during
the first quarter (1.3 million vehicles), compared with Q1 2003. These are high
times for China's auto industry. In 2003, the country overtook France as the
world's fourth-largest manufacturer and is expected to claim third place ahead
of Germany this year. However, the industry is serving as a snapshot of the
wider Chinese economy, with economists warning of a boom/bust cycle. Nevertheless, metal production raced ahead in April, with steel increasing 23%
and aluminum climbing 20%. Unsurprisingly, power generation also rose 16%, in
an attempt to cope with China's surging demand. As a result, foreign direct
investment into China rose 10% from January-April to $19.6 billion. One company
profiting from this boom is Hong Kong-based Zindart Ltd, which manufactures
plastic and paper products for giftware/souvenir marketers, as well as well as
packagers and publishers of books and board games in the U.S. and Europe. Investors at the Red Zone group also took 44% profits from Zindart recently,
courtesy of a trade recommendation from Chinese investment expert Siu-Yee Ng.
