MMS Acquires Henry Schein's Hospital Supply and Extended Care Business

ST. LOUIS, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- MMS - A Medical Supply Company, one of the largest independent healthcare distributors, announced today that it has completed its acquisition of Henry Schein's Extended Care and Caligor Hospital Divisions.

The sale, announced in early March, closed on April 1, 2006 with financing through Merrill Lynch Capital. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The additional business generated from the acquisition is expected to more than double the sales of MMS to approximately $340 million annually. The addition of these divisions furthers MMS' strategic expansion plan and gives MMS a major East Coast presence.

"The Extended Care and Caligor Hospital Divisions are well established in their markets. Adding their capabilities and services is expected to further enhance MMS' growing market position in the medical supply industry," said MMS Executive Vice President Tom Harris.

The two new divisions will operate under the continued leadership of Gina Marchese Vice President, General Manager of MMS Caligor.
