PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Missile manufacturer MBDA said it has won a 177
million pound contract from the UK Royal Navy's Seawolf air defence system.
MBDA, which is owned by BAE Systems and EADS with a 37.5 percent stake each,
and Finmeccanica with 25 percent, said the SWISS contract -- Seawolf In Service
Support -- will, alongside a complementary contract won by BAE Systems - sustain
the Seawolf system, ensuring it is ready for deployment with the Type 22 and
Type 23 frigates for the next 10 years.
